Artist Statement:
Although I have lived in several places in North America and traveled some, the island is my home. There are stories of me being drawn to movement and color since I was little. In fact, I got art supplies for celebrations instead of toys. Throughout the years I have dabbled in numerous mediums and materials. I have created sculpture with wood, wire and clay. I am a professional seamstress, paint and work with many other materials. During my Masters in Art Education I learned to let go during the process of making art. Since then I have been described as “grounded spontaneity”. Therefore, I have something in mind for my own pieces and use this concept when I teach at school and in the community. Connecting to my surroundings, thoughts and ideas guides me. Enjoy where it takes you!
