About the Artist:
Munira (they/she) is a Victoria-based photographer and visual storyteller whose work is deeply rooted in lived experience, connection, and community. A migrant and person of color, Munira brings a global perspective to their photography, shaped by living and working across cultures. Their portfolio spans portrait, lifestyle, event, and nature photography, with a strong focus on capturing stories that are often unseen or unheard.
Alongside their creative practice, Munira has extensive professional experience in mental health advocacy, disability inclusion, and employment coaching. This background informs their approach behind the camera, grounded in empathy, trust, and respect. This project reflects Munira’s passion for celebrating BIPOC immigrant women artists and entrepreneurs, honoring their journeys, resilience, and leadership and creating space for their stories to inspire others.
As inclusion is at the core of her work, Munira ensures that each story in this showcase is shared not only through images and text but also through spoken descriptions, making the art experience more accessible and inclusive.
