Artist Statement:
I have been working with trees in landscape, and related spaces, to direct my painting for 45 years.
I have been working with tree trunks and tree trunks in landscape to direct my painting / assemblage for 30 years. I call the tree trunk work TRUNKFACES.

TRUNKFACE refers to the face of the trunk or the surface of the trunk.
In this airport show I have extended this to highlight the idea of surface in general.
I build everything in each piece of work  by way of painting/assemblage.
There are different kinds of paint employed along with pastels, pencils, paper, canvas, plywood, panel board, sand, bark, glass, milled hardwood and so on.
Each individual object in the exhibition has been painted, repainted, assembled and reassembled throughout the decades.
Some came to their conclusion in 2022-23. Others back through the years.
